What is Vitimap
The optimization of a quality wine production and the achievement of a greater sustainability can not be separated by a detailed mapping of the spatial variability of the vineyard today: both the cultivation techniques and the variable rate interventions, and the practices of the differentiated harvest and vinification, rely upon this information.
Vitimap is an offer of advanced services on demand to support the precision viticulture, based on multispectral remote sensing.
With Vitimap, monitoring maps of the vineyards are realized, such as vigor maps, potential water stress maps and homogeneity maps. Customers are supported in a path of conscious management that goes from the analysis of their needs up to the interpretation and extraction of all the information that the produced maps provide, according to the agronomic and oenological objectives, which can be, for example, more rational fertilizations or a separate winemaking.
The Vitimap services rely on remote sensing data from drone, aircraft and satellite with sensors optimized to monitor the vegetative and productive variables, and on meteorological, agronomic and management information. The data are integrated together into a single decision support system available through the Internet, Vitigis web. The availability of various acquisition platforms allows adopting from time to time the best solution according to the surface to be monitored and to the temporal windows of interest, ensuring operational flexibility and an extremely competitive cost per hectare.

From its inception, TERRASYSTEM supports with remote sensing research bodies (CNR, CREA and several Italian universities) in the context of precision farming projects, particularly in the wine sector. In these experiences, specific methodologies for the analysis of the vineyard and monitoring techniques based on multispectral remote sensing have been studied and developed, which are also constantly updated thanks to the scientific support of the University of Tuscia. All this has allowed TERRASYSTEM to structure advanced services for precision viticulture that have been used by the major Italian wineries for more than 10 years.
