Forest fires cadastre

The phenomenon of forest arson is closely linked to the speculative interests connected to the management of burned areas.

The Forest Fires Cadastre is the tool provided by the Italian n° 353/2000 law on forest fires to stem the scourge of fires ignited with a view to pursuing specific interests.

One municipality out of four has already implemented their Forest Fires Cadastre, and the order of the Presidency of the Council No. 3686 of 28/08/2007, (issued so as to face up to the dramatic situation of the summer 2007), extends its institution to the Prefects and the Presidents of the Regions in those municipalities which have not as yet taken such measures.
